In 2029, Swedish physicist Sven Anderberg and American medical doctor Neil St. John published a scientific paper that would change the world forever. After ten years of research, they had succeeded in a feat of biomedical engineering no one had thought possible. They had managed to make machines so small that they were capable of being injected into the human body. These nanobots had the capacity to read and record every process of the human body - every muscle movement, every nerve synapse, every memory, every feeling. And with that technology came the possibility of replicating one's consciousness digitally, of uploading one's entire persona onto a database that became known simply as "the Net." Continue reading
Colors, boards & graphics by Kendall Quinn Christian, layout & coding from ProBoards support, the RPGC, Slightly Insane, ProVision, and SoCal. Characters belong to their respective owners. Site concept inspired by "Live Forever" by Raymond Kurzweil. If you steal our stuff, we will hunt you down and sue you for everything you're worth, including pets, family heirlooms, and younger siblings.
Personnel Files (3 sub-boards) The record of every known citizen is kept here, those who are uploaded as well as those who are members of the resistance. A staff member will move accepted applications here.
Personal Databases (2 sub-boards) Personal databases function as journals. Each character may have one, but be warned, much information on the Net is not secure, and others may end up reading it. Resistance members keep these too, although the databases for those who are not uploaded are kept in the form of a hand-held electronic device not linked to any other network.
Miami Miami is the first of the major cities to be placed on the net, because it was the city in which the original research on the Net technology took place.

New York New York was the second city uploaded, and is very popular for its artistic atmosphere.

Paris Paris was the third uploaded city, and was replicated on the Net primarily due to the demand of the Net's early citizens. It existed long before the mass upload, as did those cities uploaded before it.

London London was uploaded at almost the same time as Paris, and is one of the more culturally rich locations on the Net. People come here not only to sight see, but to learn about the history of the world that existed before the Net.

Sydney Sydney was the last of the cities replicated prior to the mass upload.

Tokyo The first of the major cities replicated after the mass upload, Tokyo is immensely popular amongst the younger crowd.

Rome Rome was replicated due to popular demand from Net citizens who wanted a place of more historical significance to explore extrapolated scenarios in the past.

Las Vegas Las Vegas is one of the newer cities replicated on the Net, and is evidence of the fact that people on the Net are moving past their original reasons for uploading (survival) and are becoming more interested in entertainment and pleasure.

The Grey The Grey is the area between the Net World and the Real World. It is unknown to most whether this place really exists or not, but the members of the Resistance who are proponents of the eventual peace between Net and Resistance believe that someday, there will be an interface, at which Net citizens and real world individuals can live side-by-side once more.
As of this point, the Grey is not open to ordinary roleplaying - staff permission is required to post here.
Amsterdam (2 sub-boards) Amsterdam is one of the few remaining cities the Sentinels haven't invaded yet. It is, unbeknownst to the authorities, the primary headquarters for the Resistance.
Moscow Moscow is another center for Resistance activity, although most of it takes place underground to avoid the intense surveillance done by the Sentinels above ground.
Boston Boston is not officially controlled by the Sentinels yet, but it's a dangerous place for any member of the Resistance to be. Unfortunately, it's also home to a lot of crucial information, and sometimes the Resistance has to make excursions here.

San Francisco San Francisco is home to the massive database that houses the servers that host the Net. These servers are deep underground, and have an extensive security system that protects them. That being so, the entire city is overrun with Sentinels.
